Knowledge translation 2022-2023

My commitment to KT is unwavering, as evidenced in the list below. These initiatives demonstrate my engagement in KT across diverse communities, which collectively broaden the impact of my research on practice and policy. During my postdoctoral tenure:

  1. I presented/co-presented at 24 conferences with diverse themes and audiences

  2. I published 12 peer-reviewed articles including six as first author. These publications serve to advance knowledge and understanding to academic audiences in my field.

  3. I was a guest on three podcasts where I shared insights on behavior change, exergaming, body image, and effective health coaching. These platforms allowed me to engage in meaningful discussions with audiences beyond academia:

  1. My work has garnered the attention of the media. I have been interviewed by the LaPresse and The Suburban to provide insights on my recent publications

  2. In my role as a Girl Guide leader, I was recognized with the Bronze Merit Award for my dedication to mentoring young women. I have also mentored 3 PhD students and 3 undergraduate students in the context of the various projects listed above

  3. I expanded my involvement in sports by becoming a basketball coach and coaching ringette, contributing to the development of young athletes

  4. My expertise was sought in the realm of executive leadership. I spoke about my research at a Women's Executive Leadership Conference organized by ZimVie. This platform allowed me to address and inspire an audience of aspiring female leaders.

  5. I provided mentorship to young women participating in the FLL Robotics Robo Runners project. In a series of virtual meetings, I assisted them in navigating their school projects, all of which related to exergaming.
